Looking for a fun, creative way to bring a bit of green into your day? I’ve been sketching some super cute plant doodles, and I couldn’t wait to share them with you!
Whether you’re a fellow plant lover or just in the mood for something playful, these adorable plant drawings are here to add a little charm and whimsy to your day. Let’s take a mini nature tour, one drawing at a time!
Little Plants with Big Attitudes
Who knew plants could have so much personality? In the first few doodles, you’ll see how even the smallest succulents can pack a punch of charm.
These little guys are full of spunk, with their quirky shapes and playful vibes.
Each one feels like it has its own story to tell, whether they’re sprawled out sideways, barely filling in a tiny pot or stretching their leaves toward the sun.
Be sure to add some variation as far as their pots go, as that’s a key way to express those creative juices.
Cactus with Character
Cacti are all about resilience and style! These prickly pals might be low-maintenance in real life, but on paper, they’re brimming with personality.
Cactus doodles are very forgiving. You can experiment with fun shapes and unexpected details, like funky flower crowns or pots with silly faces.
What do you make of mine? Is it surprised, skeptical, irritated, or just wondering about the meaning of life? You’ll never look at a cactus the same way again!
Feel-Good Vibes in Pots
Houseplants are like little pockets of happiness that brighten up any space, so I wanted to capture that in these doodles. Correction: I didn’t actually set out to capture anything specific, but while drawing these cute plant doodles, some words sprung up randomly.
Balanced.
Centered.
A Ray of Sunshine
A ray of sunshine, a splash of vibrant green… From leafy palms to velvet-y philodendrons, each plant is living its best life in its cozy little pot.
These doodles are here to remind us of how even the smallest greenery can make a big difference in brightening up a room—and your mood!
Kawaii Plant Doodles
For those who love the charm of Japanese “Kawaii” style, there’s a whole world of adorable possibilities with plant doodles! From tiny smiling faces on succulents, to big round eyes on a cactus flower.
Adding Kawaii elements brings out the sweet, lovable side of plants, turning each doodle into a cute character of its own. Kawaii is simply the Japanese word for ‘cute’, after all.
It’s the perfect way to make each sketch feel like a cheerful friend, brightening up a page or even your desk.
Fantasy Flower Line Drawings
One of my ultimate favorite things to draw? Fantasy flower doodles. Let go of the idea of realism and allow these fantasy flowers to come into existence, without any judgement. Just follow wherever your pen wants to go, and watch the paper transform into a magical garden.
In these sketches, I’ve played with line work and exaggerated shapes, creating flowers that look almost otherworldly. With their intricate details and soft, flowing petals, these fantasy-inspired flowers are perfect for anyone who loves a whimsical take on botanical art.
Imagine enchanted gardens or floral fairytales with each line!
Works for potted plants, too, doesn’t it?
Coloring with Acrylic Markers
Our household recently discovered the joys and endless possibilities of acrylic markers. For anyone who loves filling spaces and shapes with unapologetically bold pops of color, acrylic markers will bring your line drawings to life in the most vibrant way.
With bright greens, soft pinks, and vivid blues, you can really play with shades and make each plant looks like a party. The markers add a rich, smooth finish that gives the doodles a flamboyant look!
You’ve basically just made yourself some cute coloring pages with these plant doodles.
And we all know coloring is the hip little (less serious) cousin of meditation, hence the huge popularity of coloring books for adults! Because we can all use a bit less stress, and more relaxation.
Green In, Peace Out!
And that’s a wrap on my cute plant doodle collection. I hope you had as much fun looking at these drawings as I had making them. Whether you’re a plant lover or just enjoy the whimsical side of life, these little sketches are here to bring a bit of joy into your day. So grab a cup of tea, sit back, and maybe even get inspired to doodle your own plant-filled world!
Bonus: Materials Used
The nicest thing about doodling is that it never requires anything fancy. For these cute plant doodles, I used:
- a simple drawing pencil with an eraser
- a fine sharpie
- a sketchbook (but any kind of paper will do)
For an upgrade, my favorite black fine liners are these guys by Staedtler, which lasted me a decade without drying out. And these Sakura Micron Pigment liners, which I haven’t had as long, are seriously epic.
For the last colored doodle, I messed around with my kiddo’s new acrylic markers. They’re a blast to experiment with, for all ages.
